Jim left a career in Law Enforcement to go into ministry in 2004. Since that time, he has served as a pastor in two SBC churches, both small “salt of the earth” type churches which make up the backbone of the Southern Baptist Convention. His Law Enforcement experience allows him to serve as chaplain for several Law Enforcement agencies, providing spiritual care and Critical Incident Stress Management services for first responders of all types.
Jim holds several CISM certifications and has 10+ years of experience in responding to assist those in crisis. His Doctoral studies were with military chaplains, covering Post Traumatic Stress and PTSD, and he teaches classes on stress management to several Law Enforcement agencies currently.
Jim’s email signature includes the sentence “You gotta know the God I know” because of his firm belief in God’s sovereignty and incredible grace in Jesus Christ. His life verses are Galatians 2:20 and 2 Corinthians 5:17 – both about the new life every believer has in Christ.
